bio's & history

insider have been entertaining for over 6 years!

Kellie - Lead and backing vocals.

Kellie has been with the band just under 5 years now. "It's been a real roller-coaster ride" says Kellie, "I go through so many different emotions whenever we do a gig, but it is all worth it when you receive positive comments from the audience - it's a hell of a lot more gratifying than winning 10 quid for first prize in a Karaoke competition!!!"

Simon - Lead guitar, lead and backing vocals.

Simon has been in several bands playing rhythm guitar with backing vocals and occasional harmonica! Simon has brought a couple of original numbers to insider one of which can be heard on the downloads page - Time Stood Still.

Steve - Bass, acoustic guitar, backing and occasional lead vocals.

Steve is perhaps the most seasoned member of insider doing many gigs in his previous band. Recently Steve has taken lead vocals on some songs with more backing on others. He also brings an original song with him - a soft but punchy balad.

Mike - Keyboard.

This is also Mike's first time in a band. His style is quite synthesized / sequencer based but this has changed since joining insider and performing live. Mike brings a couple of original songs with Lyrics by Simon and Kellie, one of which can be found on the downloads page - Just Call Me.

Chris - Drums.

Chris has a strong Jazz background and experience in bands and is enjoying covering some top songs with insider, as well as some new numbers which he admits to being quite technically challenging. Top Fact! Chris is the only member of insider not to have written a song! Come on Chris.

August - 03/08 Crossbutts Whitby. Wedding. Small venue but lively crowd and a great night!
05/08, Private Birthday Party, Dormanstown Club. Great night, fun crowd. Really enjoyed this one.
September - Saturday 1st. Beamish Hall, Beamish. Despite only having a very (I mean very) short time to set up due to over running speeches we still managed to be 'away' on time and this proved a very enjoyable gig. Our new stuff went down really well and the dance floor was filled throughout both sets! Thank you Beamish! Great gig.

July - 22/07 Solberge Hall, Northallerton. It was a hot night in more ways than one. The band was smoking, the disco steaming and the dance floor on fire! Not literally, but again, great gig.
15/07 Grinkle Park Hotel. A fantastic venue for a fantastic night. Thanks guys for being a great crowd, hope you enjoyed as much as we did.
08/07 Parkmore, Yarm. Top party! But, not entirely thanks to us, there was a chocolate fountain there which helped;)
March - Friday 31st March was another great gig this time in Sheffield. The dancefloor was pounded throughout the 1st and 2nd sets. At one point I don't think there was anyone not dancing!!! Great crowd, all of us really enjoyed this one. It was a long way to go and come back in the early hours of the morning but made well worth it by the great reception we got. Thanks for the comments in the guestbook too.

December - Tuesday 27th back to Aldward Manor (just outside York) for another great wedding; once again it's snowing. The band nearly enjoyed this as much as the large crowd that was dancing on the dancefloor. Congratulations to the bride and groom who had a great day. Our only thing was that we had to stop the disco at 00:30 due to the hotel! I think some of them would have gone on all morning! - Saturday 10th. Wakefield. We were glad to be part of a fund raising event for a private boys school. We enjoyed the use of a large stage and spot lights, the only thing missing was the roadies! Good gig.
November
- Saturday 5th. A splendid wedding bash at the Royal George Hotel near Teesside Airport. Great tunes, great audience, great night...great band!
September -
Friday 23rd, Hartlepool Rugby Club. Another corporate do and a great crowd who were up and dancing and really enjoying themselves.
August -
We're taking a well earned break.
July
- Saturday 23rd, Raskelf Charity Gig. insider were proud to be part of the villages fund raising for the Sick Children's trust.
June
- Saturday 18th, insider on the radio (again). This time it was Radio Cleveland (95FM) and they played Time Stood Still and Just Call Me. Whilst chatting to Simon and Mike from the band. Friday 3rd North Tees PCT Trust. Great crowd, great gig. We all really enjoyed this one as did the crowd. Lots of people dancing along to our 2nd set.
May - Fresh Radio played Got to Leave You on their local music section and we branched out to the South! We can now do gigs around the south of the country.
March
- Saturday 19th Wedding party. Timings went out the window but we worked around it and gave a really good performance that went down well. See the comments in the guestbook from Kellie and Garry.
February
- Saturday 19th February. Fantastic! We enjoyed nearly as much as the guests! See the guestbook for Jess' comments. Private Wedding near York. Sunday 13th Feb. We enjoyed a brilliant gig at the Eaglescliffe Social Club, small crowd but welcoming. There was a bit of a shakey start with some technical problems beyond our control but we were soon back in control and really enjoyed this one. Some really good feedback from the punters was well received and a 3rd encore was delivered despite no rehearsal on the song! Thanks to all you lot dancing and having a good time on Sunday!
January - insider find themselves - once again - in the studio to record a couple more covers, but this time with a difference. We've recorded OUR version of Alanis Morisette's Hand In My Pocket which is a beautiful song that we've given an upbeat makeover to! And for a bit of party oomfph, Ballroom Blitz (the Wayne's World - Tia Carrera version). We hope you like them. You can hear bits of these songs on the Downloads page.

December - The Spot, Hartlepool. Excellent gig, once again a small, but friendly crowd. We played Beat-It for the first time which extends the medley a bit. Great venue. Acklam Iron & Steelworkers. A good medium sized crowd, excellent stage and a pretty good performance all round. That's it for 2004. See yah next year.
November - Photo shoot at the Studio, Hartlepool.
October - The Ship, Scarborough. Good performance and a small but fun crowd. The Fairway, Dormanstown. Once again another great gig in a small but friendly pub.
September - Back in rehearsals for up and coming gigs and having fun learning some new numbers especially more originals!!!
August - It's all gone quiet as it's holiday time!!! See you soon.
July - Springs, Teesside Retail Park. Enjoyable gig, very relaxed small-ish crowd, some good support from the crowd. The positive response confirmed some new additions to our 2nd set as regulars!!! Billingham Rugby Club. We gave a great performance at this one and even had a gig offer at the end of it! Unfortunately other commitments but there's always next month.
June - Private do at Nunthorpe & Marton Sports Club. We keep saying this but definitely our best gig yet!!! We performed our technical first set beautifully, and the 2nd set didn't let us down either. Once again great to see a full dance floor. Then insider's disco kept the dance floor full till well after closing time!
May - Back in the studio brushing up on our originals and some new party tracks.
April
- Gig at the Fairway, Dormanstown, April 1st 2004. This was the Fairway's first live band and went down a storm! This has set a precedence for the pub who will feature live acts on a regular basis now! End of April saw us perform at a private wedding at Newland Hall,  Essex. Playing to ~100 People and seeing them dancing away to our 'party' set was brilliant!
February - The PA has landed! As if by magic we now have our own PA! This means not only do we sound better being more in control of the acoustics but we can offer better rates now that we don't have to hire a PA! Also in February: insider went back in the studio for another 2 days recording a 3 track CD of original material. See the downloads page for some high quality MP3's!
January - insider spent a weekend in the studio for 2 days recording a 4 track demo CD. Kellie, Simon, Mike, Steve, Chris (5).
See the downloads page for some high quality WMA's!
